The Old Testament is the period of time starting at the creation of the world, up until the death of Jesus. Often times, it is assumed that the Old Testament ends at the birth of Jesus, since the four Gospels begin with the birth of Jesus. However, the Bible states that the New Testament did not truly begin until Jesus died.
